June Wayne: The Art of Everything
Opening September 7, 2024, at the award-winning Fullerton Museum Center, The Art of Everything: The Art and Science of June Wayne showcases the seminal work of acclaimed artist June Wayne (1918-2011). June Wayne is known for her lifelong exploration of the relationship between Art and Science. In doing so she also revolutionized printmaking and the textile medium, while fighting fearlessly for freedom of expression and the rightful inclusion of women and minorities in the art world. This new exhibition, featuring works from the June Wayne Estate and private collections, includes essays by noted author Gabrielle Selz as well as by curator Mikaela Sardo Lamarche. Presented in conjunction with the Getty Institute’s Pacific Standard Time Initiative, the exhibition highlights Wayne's interdisciplinary contributions and the global intersections of art and science. For the first time, June Wayne’s monumental tapestry On Verra, commissioned by KCET and generously loaned by PBS SoCal, will make its public premiere at FMC.
