This candid and personal photography exhibition covers a critical juncture in the career of Johnny Cash, one of the twentieth century's most beloved performers. In dialogue with this historic moment, Beyond Confinement: The Untold Stories showcases the work of individual artists affected by the incarceration system. Featured artists include Alberto Lule, Fulton Leroy Washington, Khadijah Silva, Nicholas Tirado, and others. Through their diverse mediums, these artists share personal narratives that illuminate the role of creative expression and emphasize the vital role of arts programming for those impacted by the system.
